What You Will Learn & Responsibilities: - Master the foundational process of preparing and treating buffalo hide for puppet making. - Learn the intricate art of tatah, the detailed chiseling and carving techniques that give each puppet its unique form. - Practice the art of sungging, the delicate process of painting and coloring the puppets according to traditional iconographic rules (pakem). Study the different characters of the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics and understand their visual symbolism. Assist the Empu in daily workshop maintenance and the preparation of tools.
